We are in Lake Macatawa at Eldean Shipyard in Holland Michigan. We got here a few days ago, AGAIN running from weather that was going to make getting in on Monday the 19th difficult. We have been cleaning, stacking, packing and getting the boat ready to be pulled, hopefully, on Tuesday and put in the heated barn until May. It’s kind of bittersweet as I am ready for some land based living, but I also feel as though I am ultimately going to miss living on a boat that is constantly moving around the country, seeing some of the most fantastic sights Mother Nature has to offer on the open waters, meeting so many wonderful people along the journey, and enjoying so many places that most people don’t get to see from the land; and yes maybe even the stresses that go with that life, (Yeah, no).
We look so forward to returning in May and continuing to experience the Great Lakes and Canada next season. So, again, if anyone is really considering joining us on any of this journey, this is the place to do it!
We will be seeing most of you over the holidays on the West Coast and I will be back with the blog in May 2023, so until then, Fair Winds and Calm Seas. Love to all Mike and Gina.
