I know I said the previous post was the last until we get back from California in about a month but I could not leave out Kathy’s visit while we were in Knoxville.
Kathy got to the boat on Saturday, July 13th. We went out for a few hours boat ride where we took her to the “spot” of the beginning of the Tennessee River. The weather was manageable and we anchored for a couple of hours and enjoyed the calm of the river, nature and each other’s company. Kathy spent the night on the boat where we played a few games of Snakes and Ladders, my new favorite as I seem to be on a winning streak. The next morning everyone got up late and we had a leisurely breakfast before she headed off back home to Gainesville, GA. It was fun and nice to be able to share the boat and this lifestyle with my long time friend.
We left Knoxville on July 18th under dark skies that threatened rain. It was actually cold enough for Michael to have to wear his hoodie…until we stopped moving and the sun came out, then it was blazing hot again.
We made it back to Ft. Loudon Marina and got docked just as the skies opened up and poured rain for about a half hour. We are here for 4 days then off to California. This time I mean it, the next blog will be in August after we get back. See most of you in a couple of weeks. Love to all Gina and Mike.
